Jan 5 - Moorea

Today, as all days here seem to do, dawned sunny and very warm!  So far temperatures are consistently in the mid to upper 80's during the day and about 79 at night with plenty of humidity during the day.  The weather is very reminiscent of Florida in the summer, so it's not a big shock to our systems!

Rather than visiting Moorea we decided to stay on board the ship for the day and continue relaxing and acclimating to the 5-hour time change and catching up on our sleep.   We began the day with breakfast in the main dining room.  Mine started off as usual with me having my usual fruit smoothie, but then I succumbed to a wonderful pain au chocolat! Denny had some corned beef hash, fruit, and oatmeal, while we sat at our table with four other people and enjoyed some interesting conversation.

Denny sat out on the deck reading and napping for a good part of the day while I did some blogging for the previous days and read.   We met up with Cheryl and Roy from NC for afternoon tea (no chocolate involved - darn!) then headed back to our room to get dressed for the captain's reception before dinner.  Once again we joined Cheryl and Roy and had a delightful time at the reception.  Not only were there canapés, but there were also unlimited free drinks in three of the lounges for 2 hours.  You could have anything you wanted to drink as well as having as many as you wanted!  This is quite a change from other cruises we've been on.

After a lovely meal in the dining room and about 20 minutes on the slot machines we headed to our room for the night. The gal who does our turn-down service leaves dark chocolate squares for each of us on the bed.  I leave her a note reminding her to leave some extras,  so we have a nice treat before bed!

The day ends with a beautiful sunset
